Pay the Players

A major talking point in college athletics is whether or not the athletes should be paid. There's a lot of research being done on both sides of the argument. In my opinion, athletes should only be payed for their name, image and likeness. This is starting to be legalized in the NCAA and hopefully it will be ready to go soon. However, I do not agree that colleges should pay the athletes for their time. Most are already on scholarship and have meal plans, stipends, and medical treatment. Also, only two sports actually bring in a profit and they are football and basketball. Even then, not all programs make a profit. The only way I see players being paid would be for jersey sales and anything that requires name, image, and likeness.
